Exercises Our Gym Members Love to Hate!

Exercises Our Gym Members Love to Hate!

Exercise trends come and go, but some things stay consistent, for instance that incredibly uncomfortable burning sensation in your thighs during squats or that lightheadedness that comes with multiple step ups. We asked our members what their most dreaded exercises were. You know, the ones you hate, but still do, as you know they produce great results… and this is what they said:

Ouch No 1 - Squats

Squat Exercise

Squats are one of the best exercise’s you can do, as they are the best strength building exercise for the legs. The squat is one of the most natural movements we do, as we start squatting when we are all small children. The squat doesn’t only work your legs it also works the core and bum too, so it’s a great multi muscle workout

Arghhh No. 2 - Lunges

Lunge Exercise

Lunges are a phenomenal exercise, and the effects can be seen in no time. Lunges are an easy and efficient exercise to help build strength in your quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, calves, and core. Lunges are a very difficult exercise for some people as they have a weak core and imbalances in their leg muscles

Eeeek No. 3 - Burpees

People hate burpees, but why? Burpees are difficult because it’s a multi joint exercise mixed with the cardio element of moving from the press up like lower position, back to your feet and then the jump. As so many muscles work at once in this exercise, it can be brutal, but very rewarding.

Grrrrrr No. 4 Plank

Plank Exercise

Planks are very popular for core strengthening, and for good reason, it works. Sometimes the simplest of movements result in the greatest gains to your fitness. Holding the plank position takes strength and endurance in your abs, back, and core.

If you haven’t tried these exercises before why not give them a go, we know they can help you get some great results… we’re just not too sure how enjoyable you will find them!!
